Look at the bristling Banyan
At the skirts of the village
Where, from dawn to dust,
Varieties of birds are
Chirping and chirping...
None of the crows, egrets, cranes,
Wagtails, Parrots, Doves and bulbuls’
Lingo resembles each other in spite of variety,
Even though they nest together
How wondrous it is !
Yet
Each of their speech contains
Emotions, words, rhythm, stories
Mysteries, hunger, winter, happy moments, worries —
Everything for everyone
In their words and sweet notes
Reflect joy and melancholy, passion and reason,
They reflect nostalgia and heartfelt pain
Thus all the birds together
Are chirping, chirping and chirping...
